Home Video Report: Buddies, Old and New
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Headlining our home video collection this week is a mammoth assortment of works by two of the most popular comedy personalities in movie history.
These are the films of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, assembled in a 10-disk boxed set. It's 32 hours of material, including 40 of their films from the '20s and '30s -- with even some foreign-language shorts.
It's called "Laurel & Hardy: The Essential Collection," and it's a pretty good deal at an asking price of just under 100 bucks.
And speaking of buddy films, a couple of more recent vintage are coming to DVD. One is Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds in The Change-Up, the tale of inseparable best friends who've slowly drifted apart.
There's also Crazy, Stupid, Love, with Steve Carrell, about a man who finds his wife of many years saying she wants a divorce and who then gets advice from a swinging bachelor played by Ryan Gosling.
Finally, look for part two of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final installment of that long-running franchise.
