I'm back from enjoying two weeks of R&R in Colorado (ball go far) and another week of filling in for Harry Donahue. During that break I was saddened to see the demise of Horsham Valley Golf Club. Here's Joe Logan's piece on that at MyPhillyGolf.com.

Now that the extreme heat has departed, this is a good week to hit the links. Here are a few nice local deals:
Twisted Dune has unveiled a midweek golf special: Tuesdays - thru - Thursdays when you purchase one round at the regular rate, you can get a second round at 25% off. For the rest of this month at Yardley Country Club, anyone can play Mondays through Wednesdays for the rate of $50 including cart.
At Back Creek Golf Club, Seniors 55+ and Ladies play Monday - Thursday for $30.00 with cart.

Also Friday night, Bethlehem Golf Club will host a Night Golf Scramble. Your $65 entry fee covers a 7:30p steak dinner, golf (8:45pm tee time) and prizes. You can sign up by calling the pro shop at 610-691-9393.
Golf Digest Top 50 Women's Instructor Lori Van Sickle will be holding a Short Game Mini-School on Sunday, July 15. It will cover putting, chipping and sand shots. Price is $125 and you can reserve a spot here at Lori's website.
