Residents Allowed Back Inside After High CO Levels Prompt Evacuation Of Del. Senior Living Center

HOCKESSIN, Del. (CBS) -- A senior living center in New Castle County was forced to temporarily evacuate Friday morning after high levels of carbon monoxide were detected.

Chopper 3 was over the Cokesbury Village, located on the 700 block of Loveville Road, where the residents and workers could be seen standing outside the facility in Hockessin.

Officials say the eight floor senior living facility were evacuated while the fire department investigated.

Just before noon, officials placed the situation under control and allowed residents back inside.

Officials say it was a small leak from a boiler in the basement, which elevated the CO levels in the building. The leak was located and the boiler was shut down.

No one was injured in the incident.
