Hearing Held To Discuss Putting Up Cameras To Crackdown On Boulevard Speeding
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A state legislative committee held a hearing Monday on possibly adding speed cameras on the Roosevelt Boulevard.
The cameras would photograph license plates of cars going over the speed limit by 10 miles per hour or more, generating a ticket that would be reviewed by police before being mailed to the vehicle's owner.
The fine would be $100.
State Senator Michael Stack is sponsoring the speed-camera bill.
Several intersections on the Roosevelt Boulevard already have cameras to catch vehicles running red lights.
