Health Insurance Coverage By The Numbers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The National Center for Health Statistics keeps records on those who are insured and uninsured and, as the country starts to rework its approach to health care, it is interesting to look at the numbers.
The first three months of 2013, 46 million people – or 14.8 percent of the population – lacked insurance in the United States. 34.5 million of them had lived without insurance for over a year. Those between 25 to 34 were the most likely to lack health insurance, and in age groups ranging from 18 to 44, men were more likely to be uninsured than women and unmarried were uninsured more than those with spouses.
