Cops: 1 Charged With DUI Following Fiery Crash On I-295 In Gloucester County
WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. (CBS) -- Two people escaped serious injury after a fiery, head-on crash in Gloucester County, New Jersey.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of I-295 at Exit 21 in West Deptford.
Police say the driver of a Toyota Prius was heading northbound in southbound lanes when she stuck a Ford F-150 pickup truck, causing it to burst into flames.
The driver of the truck managed to escape the vehicle before it exploded.
Police say they found the female driver of the Toyota Prius unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle.
The woman was extracted and taken to Cooper University Hospital where medical staff determined her injuries are non-life threatening.
The male driver of the pickup was taken to Inspira Woodbury also for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say 26-year-old Eileen Dougherty of Boothwyn, Pennsylvania has been charged with DUI.

All southbound lanes were closed for several hours and only one lane in the northbound direction was getting by, causing a major back-up in traffic during the early part of the morning rush.
All lanes reopened around 7:15 a.m.
