Harrah's Chester Casino Is Now Harrah's Philadelphia
By Cherri Gregg
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Harrah's Chester is changing its identity to better compete in the Philadelphia-area casino market.
On Saturday, Harrah's Chester will officially become Harrah's Philadelphia. And with the new name comes a new focus on more than just games.
"We are rolling out brand new restaurants. We opened the first one about three weeks ago, Cafe Napoli. And then in the month of June we're opening up Barley-Que, which will feature handcrafted artisan beers, great bourbon and the best barbeque you've ever had in your entire life," says General Manager Ron Baumann.
And they're bringing a piece of Philadelphia as well- they'll be opening a brand new Tony Luke's in June. And that's not all.
"We'll be featuring non-stop entertainment all the time and that really kicks off this weekend, with our first ever outdoor show featuring Lynyrd Skynyrd."
To mark the new Philly-focus, Philadelphia's own Tony Luke brought in a 20-foot cheesesteak and competitive eater Takeri Kobayashi broke his personal record by eating one in less than 24 seconds.
Philadelphia eagles Brian Westbrook and Jeremiah Trotter were also in attendance.
