Harlem Globetrotters Bring Basketball Skills To Camden Kids
CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – On Friday, the Harlem Globetrotters brought their best basketball moves to 500 lucky students at a Camden school.
Children at Cooper's Poynt School in the City of Camden were treated to an educational performance by the Globetrotters that highlighted the importance of exercise and incorporated the signature Magic Circle ball-handling demonstration.
Cooper's Poynt is part of Campbell's new initiative to lower rates of childhood obesity and reduce hunger in Camden's youth through elementary school health programs that emphasize physical activity and healthy eating. The program also strives to bring exercise into the classroom and physical education classes, as well as at home.
