WATCH: Surveillance Video Captures Wild Shootout Near Chester High School
CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- Surveillance video captured a wild shootout on the streets of Chester Friday morning, causing the Chester Upland School District to place schools on lockdown to keep students safe and accounted for. It was the second time in consecutive days gunfire erupted near Chester High School.
"The Chester Upland School District is giving its full support and cooperation to the police as they investigate. We have been assured that there will continue to be a police presence on campuses at dismissal today," the school district said in a statement.
Store surveillance video obtained by CBS3 shows a gunman on the 600 block of West 10th Street walk right up to another man and shoot around 7:50 a.m.
The male hiding behind the GMC appears to have fired back.
"This morning, I was laying in bed and I heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop," a neighbor said.
One of the suspects has been identified as Haneef Payne and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. The other suspect was wearing a dark-colored sweat jacket with white stripes going down the sleeves and dark pants.
The shootout happened near Chester High School, just one day after two students were struck by gunfire on West 9th and Barclay Streets in what police consider to be an unrelated shooting.
A 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were shot while walking home, just after dismissal, about a block away from the school.
The 15-year-old was shot in the chest, arm and leg and is in critical condition.
The other boy is recovering after he was shot in the foot.
Chester Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland passionately spoke out Friday following the recent shootings.
"Just like yourselves I'm disgusted and outraged by the recent shooting events that have taken place in our great city. I know people are outraged and hurting and you should be. Each and every one of us should be at this point," Kirkland said.
George Benson says he's not sending his 12-year-old niece to Chester High School.
"With all the shootings and stuff that's taking place and kids getting hurt, we're afraid to let our little niece, my sister's granddaughter, walk from her bus stop to home," Benson said.
After today's shootout, police have added even more patrols. There will be also more access to surveillance cameras throughout the city and there will also be assistance from police from the county.
No arrests have been made.
