Guide To The 2016 Mummers Parade
Philadelphia's annual Mummers Parade is one of the longest-running New Year's traditions in the country. Planning on going this year? Here's what you need to know for the 116th annual event on January 1, 2016.
PARADE ROUTE: The parade starts at City Hall, with mummers marching down Broad Street to Washington Avenue.
WHEN: The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. and the Fancy Brigade finale runs from noon to 5 p.m.
WHERE TO WATCH: Parade goers can stand and watch anywhere along Broad Street from City Hall to Washington Avenue. Grand Stand seating is offered at City Hall (Guests must purchase tickets, for more information click here).
TICKETS: Attending the parade is free, unless you want to sit in the Grand Stand seating area at City Hall or watch one of the the Fancy Brigade finale shows at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Tickets for Grand Stand seating are available at the Independence Visitor Center (click here for more information) and tickets to the Fancy Brigade performances can be purchased at www.comcasttix.com.
TRANSPORTATION: SEPTA will be operating on a holiday schedule, so check the website before heading out.
