'Green' Summer Camp Blooms in Bucks County, Pa.

BRISTOL, Pa. (CBS) -- A unique summer camp is being conducted in Bucks County, Pa. And it's all about sustainability.
The courtyard at Bristol High School is filled with raised beds, arbors, a fountain, a pond, and vegetables of every variety.
"We started about three years ago with just the simple raised beds over there," recalls Doug Braun, who leads the Garden and Green Technology Club summer camp. "And in the corner over here by the guidance windows, we had a traditional garden that we tilled. And all of the raised beds, all of the ground cover -- that's all within the last two weeks."
About a dozen students are involved in building the raised beds, and growing and harvesting.
"I was eating carrots," student Liam Andrews (center background of photo, in grey shirt) tells KYW Newsradio. "I picked a carrot out of the ground and washed it off a little bit, and ate it right out of the ground. It was better than a store carrot," he adds.
The camp was made possible with a $5,000 grant from SCA, a global hygiene-products company.
