Grand Opening Held For New Farmers' Market in Camden, N.J.

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Vendors, shoppers, and local officials gathered in Camden today for the opening of a new farmers' market.
The ribbon-cutting for the Haddon Farmers Market brought out Camden City Council members and mayor Dana Redd.
The 100,000-square-foot retailing center will carry items ranging from food to furniture to beauty supplies.
Roncha Dickerson, a Camden native, says this complex is something that is very much welcome in the community.
"The first thing I love about it is I see Camden residents in here opening up businesses. Secondly, it gives everyone a place to shop at, and it makes it a family atmosphere. And thirdly, it's a safe environment."
Keith Ludwick, general manager of the Haddon Farmers Market, says they already have almost 100 vendors who will be in their indoor and outdoor facilities.
"There's a chance to shop for everything, and just browse and have a day of it," he tells KYW Newsradio.
Ludwick says his goal here is to create a piazza in Camden that gives small businesses an outlet to get their products to the community.
