Neighbor: Grace Kelly's Family Buys Back Childhood Home
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Christina Spolsky is proud of her East Falls neighborhood and says the home next door makes things even better. It sits at the corner of Henry Avenue and Coulter Street and it happens to be the childhood home of Hollywood star turned Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly.
"I remember when I was a little girl reading about Grace Kelly. I would have never expected that I would one day be living next to Grace Kelly, Princess Grace's house," Spolsky said.

Spolsky moved next door to the famous home in 1994. "It's a beautiful house. Fantastically well-built," she told Eyewitness News.
Grace's father, John Kelly Sr. built the home in 1929. Spolsky says she has recently been in touch with members of the Kelly family and she is overjoyed they now own the house again. The last listed price was $750,000. Spolsky says it sold at the end of September.
The previous owner, who purchased the home in the early 1970's, was cited for hoarding cats in 2013. She passed away last April.
"In the summer when it was hot, you could sometimes smell the stench outside. It was that bad," Spolsky said.

Spolsky said she was told work on the home would begin over the next few months. Grace Kelly died in a car accident in 1982. She was just 52 years old.
