Gov. Christie Resolves to 'Learn From This' Bridgegate Scandal

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- New Jersey governor Chris Christie today held his first press conference in more than two months, one day after lawyers hired by his office exonerated his administration of any wrongdoing in the Bridgegate scandal.
Today, Christie explained his lack of access by insisting he couldn't address ongoing questions about Bridgegate until he had answers.
Now, with those answers in that 345-page report, the governor says, he is ready to act.
"I'm fully embracing the reforms as it pertains to my office," Christie told reporters. "It has been my resolve from the beginning to learn from this and to do whatever we can to be better."
That, apparently, includes making it clear what staffers should and should not do on his behalf.
Christie also accepted the resignation of David Samson as head to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, insisting that Samson wanted to leave last year but stayed on at his request (see related story).
The governor said he's not concerned about lower poll numbers and won't make any decision about a presidential run for at least a year.
And yes, he says, he'll be holding press conferences again.
