Gov. Christie, Cable TV Show Visit Ventnor, NJ To Help With Post-Sandy Rebuild

VENTNOR, N.J. (CBS) -- Some homeowners along the South Jersey shore still looking to make repairs after Hurricane Sandy are getting help from the volunteer group "Habitat for Humanity."
This weekend, a cable television program was pitching in, and recording the effort for a pair of TV shows.
And New Jersey's governor, Chris Christie, dropped by to say thanks.
Christie says he's determined to see the rebuilding work completed with the help of anyone willing to give.
"It's no longer a job for me -- it's a mission," Christie said. "And for those of you that have been lucky enough in this group to have a mission in your life, you know how much different that is than a job. It's something that's sacred."
Ventnor mayor Mike Bagnell shares the sentiment.
"Sandy knocked us down, but with the help from all you people, she didn't knock us out," Bagnell said.
One hundred twenty-five people from the Discovery Networks are pitching in over three days, with films crews taking it all in.
When they leave, some three dozen regular Habitat volunteers will carry on, as they have been for months. And hard as it may be to believe, they're actually having a bit of a hard time finding people willing to accept their help.
Some are skeptical of their motives, while others still aren't sure if they'll even bother to rebuild.
