Gov. Christie Announces Delayed Opening For NJ State Offices On Friday
TRENTON, N.J., (CBS) -- Due to the winter storm, Governor Chris Christie has authorized a delayed opening of 10:30 a.m. for all non-essential state employees on Friday.
The governor says this will allow ample time for roadways, parking lots and sidewalks to be cleared and made safe for travel.
Essential employees should report to work on their regular schedule.
"Winter Storm Pax brought more than a foot of snow to parts of New Jersey and is expected to bring even more snow and freezing rain across the state tonight," said Gov. Christie in a statement. "I strongly encourage all New Jerseyans to remain off the roads tonight if possible and exercise caution during their morning commutes tomorrow. I thank our state's transportation crews and first responders for their tireless efforts to keep our residents safe."
