Gosnell Aide Gets Probation in West Philadelphia Abortion Clinic Case

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A co-defendant in the Kermit Gosnell abortion-murder case has been sentenced to 6-23 months of house arrest followed by two years of probation.
Judge Jeffrey Minehart sentenced 56-year-old Eileen O'Neill this morning in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. O'Neill was a staffer who performed procedures at Gosnell's West Philadelphia clinic. She was found guilty in May of conspiracy and theft charges in connection with her involvement at the Women's Medical Society, which was the name of Gosnell's practice.
The judge indicated he was giving O'Neill a light sentence because she is the sole caretaker of her seriously ill mother. She will also have to perform 100 hours of community service.
O'Neill is expected to turn herself in to authorities on July 30th.
Gosnell was found guilty of first-degree murder for killing infants born alive during abortion procedures. He is serving three consecutive life sentences.
