Google Hangs Up 'Help Wanted' Sign For Techies And Luddites Alike

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you've ever dreamed of how cool it would be to work at Google, now's your chance. The company added 3,000 people to its workforce last year, and it's still hiring. But you don't have to be a computer science whiz to get a job in the sector.
You probably don't see this outside your work window: "I love the driverless cars -- my office is very close to where I see a lot of driverless cars go by everyday."
Seth Williams is Google's staffing director. His team sifts through more than a million job applications every year.
"What we try to do is we want to hire people that match our user base."
Even if computer code is Greek to you, "There are plenty of jobs for people -- much like myself, who does not have an engineering background."
For a job at Google, or perhaps one of the many tech companies that call Philly home, "Find what you're passionate about. Find what it is that you really enjoy doing or you would like to learn more about. That's truly where you're going to excel."
And keep that resume concise but specific. "Try to highlight what are the things that make you unique."
