Gloucester County Town Stunned By Sudden Death Of Former Mayor
CLAYTON, N.J. (CBS) -- Autopsy results are pending on the body of a former Gloucester County mayor found dead earlier this week on a beach down the shore.
New Jersey State Police are investigating Tuesday's discovery of the body of 43-year-old Jeff Radio on the beach in Strathmere. He was a vice President at Sun Bank and was very involved in his home town of Clayton.
Radio served one term as mayor and then got on the school board. Mayor Tom Bianco succeeded Radio in 2012.
"We put our flags at half mast in honor of Mayor Radio and I believe a couple municipalities in Gloucester County also are doing the same thing," Bianco told KYW Newsradio.
Clayton is one of those small towns where everybody really does know everybody. So Radio's sudden passing is hitting the people hard.
Bianco says they're stunned and want to help the family. He insists, political differences aside, Jeff Radio loved Clayton and always gave 110 percent.
