Gloucester County High School Holds Annual Hoagie Fundraiser

MULLICA HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- More than 200 students and volunteers were "breaking bread" at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, New Jersey Sunday morning for the annual Hoagies 4 Hope Super Bowl Hoagie Fundraiser.
"It's is an Incredible, awesome experience having the kids involved," said organizer John Wiseburn, "and the passion."
The two-foot long hoagies sell for $10.
"We are making an Italian hoagie," Wiseman said, "with capicola, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato."
And the meat of the story isn't how much salami goes into the hoagies, rather how much heart. That's because money raised at this event will help local families dealing with medical issues.
Christina McNasby was born with several health problems. She is now facing a number of surgeries that are not covered by insurance. The funds raised will help her and two other local families.
"I feel grateful," McNasby said. "I feel loved by a lot of people."
Several tables served as an assembly line for the more than 1,200 Italian hoagies. Volunteers enjoyed hamming it up as they placed the meat, but the only thing that made them cheesy was the provolone.
"Everybody is responsible to make it look good," said volunteer Alberto Gaglianese, "because we want a good product."
And it was a wrap -- as volunteers walked away knowing they did a good deed.
"It's the impact of helping each other out," Wiseman said, "and that's our biggest goal here at Clearview, being a family."
