Global Initiative To Call Awareness To Global Warming Tonite
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Earth hour takes place tonight.
Earth Hour is one hour out of the year where people turn off all their electricity.
Tech life expert Stephanie Humphrey says the idea of Earth hour has really taken off.
"Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia and it was just to bring awareness to climate change and global warming so 2.2 million people back then turned off their lights for one hour and over 128 countries participated last year, and they expect for it this year to be even more."
You don't have to register to participate, just shut off your lights and your television, adds Humphrey.
"It's from 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. whatever time zone you're in."
