Give A Dog A Bone Organization Hosts Event For Doggie Donations
Philadelphia (CBS) – Later this week, animal lovers are invited to a restaurant on the Main Line for an event to benefit shelter dogs.
It's the third year Randi Vladimer is collecting all sorts of things dogs just love -- and things that shelter dogs rarely get their paws on.
"Bones, treats, toys, blankets, and baskets. Last year we did 960 pounds of Milk-Bones, over 1400 toys and treats and rawhides."
Her organization, Give a Dog a Bone, delivers the canine care packages to SPCAs, rescues, and other shelters across the region before Christmas. Vladimer even ships baskets to places where pets may have lost their best friends.
"We held back boxes of supplies for shelters that were facing emergency crises during the year, such as Alabama and Tennessee last spring after the tornadoes. There were hundreds and hundreds of dogs without homes."
If you can't make it to Redhound Grille, 128 Paoli Pike, in Paoli on Thursday evening from 5-8, there are more ways to chip in -- including drop-off points across the Delaware Valley.
Vladimer invites you to e-mail her at randi@vladimerlaw.com.
