Girl, 2, Killed By Car Backing Out Of Driveway
LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a 2-year-old girl has been struck and killed by a car backing out of a driveway in Lakewood.
Det. Sgt. Greg Staffordsmith said that the child was hit outside a home on Forest Park Circle around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday.
The child was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where she died of her injuries.
The child's name wasn't released.
The incident was being investigated and anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. William Butterworth at 732-363-0200.
