German Students Visiting Camden County Taking Plane Crash News In Stride, Says Teacher

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- A group of high school students visiting from Germany say they are not overly troubled by the news of the recent plane crash in the French Alps attributed to the purposeful act of a German copilot.
The students, who were in Camden today, studying local government, will be flying back home on Tuesday.
One student, Kim, says that in Germany they don't worry much about terrorism, and understand this was just a one-time incident.
"Such a terrorist thing as the Twin Towers accident happened here, so I can really understand that everyone is afraid of that when they hear that," she said, "but in Germany there wasn't an accident like this, so we are more calm, I think."
Her teacher, Dirk Neumann, says this wasn't a conversation he wanted to have, but adds that the kids have handled the news prety well, all things considered:
"No one actually thinks this will happen again, which is good. They can keep their emotions together. They don't need to panic."
Neumann says they're focused on enjoying their final weekend here rather than dwelling on the tragic Germanwings airliner accident.
