Gas Station Owner Shot, Killed During Robbery Attempt In Woodbury

WOODBURY, N.J. (CBS) -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a gas station owner in Gloucester County Sunday night.
The shooting happened at about 9 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Broad Street in Woodbury, New Jersey.
According to investigators, the incident began as an attempted robbery of Garden State Fuel. Authorities say during the attempted robbery, a co-owner of the business was shot.
When police arrived, they found the victim, identified by police as 40-year-old Surinder Singh, lying in the street. Singh was rushed to Inspira Medical Center, Woodbury, but was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 p.m.
Investigators are said to be looking for at least two suspects who fled in a silver sedan shortly after the shooting.
It was not immediately known if anything was taken during the robbery attempt.
Singh leaves behind a wife and two children.

The incident remains under investigation.
