Gas Prices Continue To Fall In NJ
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Motorists continue to see lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey, even though the national average is up slightly for the first time in eight weeks.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $3.56, down a penny from last week.
That marks the seventh straight week that gas prices have fallen in the state. But that's still much higher than the cost a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.59.
Meanwhile, the national average price rose by 4 cents to $3.59. That's also much higher than the national average from a year ago, which was $2.72.
Analysts say the boost in the national price is mostly due to rising crude oil prices.
