Gas Prices Continue To Fall

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) -- Gas prices continue to fall throughout the country -- and believe it or not -- there are gas stations in South Jersey where you can get a gallon for less than $3.
The Gulf station on Burlington-Mount Holly Road in Mount Holly has hit a milestone Sunday. $2.99 for a gallon of regular -- if you're paying cash -- and that's a number we haven't seen in a long time.
Drivers are understandably excited to have a few extra dollars in their pockets, including Tiffany from Westampton.
"It makes me feel good, good and bad," she says, "because I remember when it was 89-cents. Now it's $2.99."
That's almost 50-cents cheaper than this time last year.
"It's a little bit less," Tiffany says. "I work in Trenton and it's like 30-cents more there, so I make sure I fill up here before I go."
Rachel from Mount Holly is a college student. She didn't even have her driver's license the last time fuel was cheaper than $3.
"It's not a big difference, but it really does help," she says. "This car is really old, so I'm constantly filling it up. Seeing that sign right there is really a blessing."
Gas is more expensive in Pennsylvania at 3.39 on average for a gallon of regular, compared to 3.18 in South Jersey. However, analysts expect prices to continue falling into the winter because demand is flat and refineries are producing a cheaper winter blend of gasoline.
