Gas Leak Forces Evacuations In Northern Liberties

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A gas leak has forced residents to evacuate in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia Thursday night.

The incident was reported at about 5 p.m. along the 900 block of N. 5^th Street.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene.

PGW says a private contractor hit a gas line.

The 900 block of N. Lawrence Street was evacuated as a precaution.

There are no injuries reported at this time.

Gas service has not been affected.
