Gas Leak Causes Problems In Malvern
MALVERN, Pa. (CBS) - A fuel spill in Malvern, Chester County Saturday has forced some evacuations and caused several road closures, according to authorities.
The leak occurred near the Mobile Oil Terminal in Malvern.
"We had a gasket that failed on a vapor recovery unit and as a result of that failure we had several thousand gallons of gasoline that escaped," Public Information Officer David Boone said.
Roads were closed on Business Route 30 and on Malin Road, but both roads are now reopened.
Fire, Hazmat and Department of Environmental Protection crews were on the scene. Officials say the spill has been contained.
A vacuum truck will finish cleaning the water and the soil will be tested ultimately and any problems corrected.
