Gaming Control Board Hearing Proposals For Second Casino In Philadelphia

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- Members of the Gaming Control Board – and the public – will get their first chance Tuesday to hear sales pitches from the six applicants vying for Philadelphia's second casino license.
Gaming Control Board spokesman Doug Harbach says this is not a public input hearing. In fact, even the board members will mostly just listen as the applicants for the casino license make presentations.
"Each applicant is going to get an equal amount of time – about 45 to 50 minutes – to come in and show the board, and more importantly show the public, what their project is all about."
There will be a chance for the public to have its say, in April, with a decision by the gaming board likely toward the end of the year. Tuesday's event is in Room 103a of the Convention Center, which Harbach says has room for about 350 people.
