Fundraiser Saturday At Penns Landing For Student Athlete Academy
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A special fundraiser Saturday night on Penn's Landing will benefit an organization that works to keep student athletes on the right track.
For 15 years, the International Student Athlete Academy has been working to provide programs and services for junior high, high school and junior collegiate athletes, ranging from financial management, to life skills, to academic enrichment.
Carlos Bradley is executive vice president of ISSA and says the life of a student athlete is a delicate balance.
"They may be overdo it athletically or underdo it academically. And what we try to do is show them how to balance their life and be a true student athlete because you can't succeed in life if you don't have your education."
ISSA is holding its spring gala celebration and fundraiser Saturday night at the Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing.
