From Shivering To...Spring???

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Pick a side mother nature!

Decisions this time of year are supposed to be relegated to having another helping of turkey, or saving room for dessert...not wind chills in the teens or highs near 70. But she clearly can't decide!

In one calendar week, that is what we will see. After a deep freeze to start the week, Thursday's afternoon temperatures featured a glimmer of hope...only to be pushed back down by a passing cold front. That will leave Friday's highs stuck, once again, only in the 30s. And to boot, that chilly breeze will be back to make it feel even colder.

As we move into the weekend, the climb back to the top begins. Saturday stays dry and sunny with a jump into the 40s. Sunday is dry as well, with some sun but more clouds. As for highs? They will be average for this time of year, but will likely feel more like t-shirt weather after the week we've had!

The streak of dry weather comes to a close late Sunday night into Monday. Steady rain is likely overnight, tapering to scattered showers by Monday. Only several days removed from setting cold, the Delaware Valley will flirt with record high temperatures - 70 degrees will be within reach!

Turkey Day Outlook - If you're traveling on Sunday or Monday, you will have rainy conditions to contest with, which may hamper any early getaway plans. Tuesday and Wednesday look tranquil. Thanksgiving looks sunny with highs in the mid 40s.

Have a great weekend!
