Freed Hikers Back In America
CHELTENHAM, Pa. (CBS) - The two hikers -- Josh Fattal, who's from Elkins Park, and Shane Bauer -- recently released from an Iranian prison (see related story) after being convicted of spying charges, have arrived at JFK Airport in New York (see related story).
Family members of the two hikers were able to meet them in Oman to begin the celebration of freedom, but friends were still waiting to welcome Joshua Fattal home.
Joe Boxman went to Cheltenham High School with Fattal. For the last two years he's waited for updates from the family of the Montgomery County native. "Every time there was good news it was always -- we were always like 'you know it sounds good, it sounds like this is going to be the time, but not sure.'"
Boxman says he can't wait to celebrate with Fattal, "A lot of people, you would think that they would go into that situation and come out angry or come out upset about the situation and I think Josh was very much the opposite."
Now Boxman says he can't wait to listen to Fattal's story. Boxman says he'd like to plan a party for Fattal when once he relaxes a bit.
