PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you can't make it to Austin this year for the annual South by Southwest music, entertainment and technology conference, tonight there's a free pre-party at Temple University featuring some of the acts from the ALL Philly music showcase before they head southwest.
Local companies What Scene? and RECphilly are hosting the official Philadelphia showcase at this year's SXSW Festival. The lineup features artists like Freeway, OCD, Chill Moody and Milton, who will be making his SXSW debut.
"I just feel like the diversity that is in the lineup is just going to show what Philly really is all about, show the culture, show the life, show the art of what we are here."
David Silver, the president and co-founder of Philly record label RECPhilly, says this show is the result of a years of organizing, relationship building, and love for Philadelphia and its ever-evolving music scene.
"We're ready to show SXSW and the entire nation what happens when Philly comes together on a national platform and we come together to perform great music."
The official SXSW Philly Kickoff Concert takes place tonight at Pub Webb Live, 1527 Cecil B. Moore Ave, Philadelphia PA 19121.
