Franklin Institute Hosts 'Science After Hours'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Franklin Institute hosted an event Tuesday night, aimed at getting adults interested in the sciences.
Sparklers, hydrogen balloons, liquid nitrogen, and soap are just a few of the tools used during the Science After Hours program at the Franklin Institute.
"This is our 'don't try this at home' Science After Hours. We have tons of activities happening all over the building, all sorts of explosions and experiments that we're encouraging people to do here, but not necessarily at home," said Gerri Trooskin with the Franklin Institute.
She says this 21-and-over event gives adults a chance to relive some of their childhood experiences they had at the museum, and make some new ones.
"You walk around and you see the same joy and excitement about science that we see on the faces of kids all day long," said Trooskin.
While exploring the museum, visitors can enjoy some adult beverages.
"Everything looks pretty fun, everybody is smiling faces and having a good time," said one visitor.
"I love science, so being able to put that and the fun together makes it really exciting," said another.
The Franklin Institute hosts Science After Hours once a month, with different themes each month.
