Four Teens Hospitalized After Shooting In SW Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Four teenagers were hospitalized after falling victim to stray gunfire while attending a vigil in the Elmwood section of Southwest Philadelphia.
According to police sources, the group of teenagers was attending a vigil for a 16-year-old boy who was struck and killed by a garbage truck while riding his bicycle on Friday afternoon in the same neighborhood.
Police responded to the scene of the shooting at 58th Street and Elmwood Avenue just after 9 p.m. Saturday evening. Sources say, an unidentified person fired shots into a large crowd striking a15-year-old female and three teen boys in the arms and legs. All of the victims were taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in stable condition.
Police have not recovered a weapon at the scene and there is no suspect in custody or a motive in the shooting.
