Former Top Pick Anthony Bennett To Sixers Is A Possibility
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a deal that will send number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins to Minnesota in exchange for Kevin Love. The Sixers have been linked to this deal as a possible third team and Windhorst brought up the Sixers on ESPN Radio when he referenced the deal.
He raised the possibility of Anthony Bennett, the Cavaliers 2013 number one overall selection, going to Philadelphia in a move that would ship Thaddeus Young to Minnesota to fill Love's void at power forward. Draft picks would also be involved in the swap, more than likely coming back to Philadelphia.
Bennett is coming off a disappointing rookie campaign when considering his draft position. With that said, Bennett is still a young prospect (21) with good size (6'8, 259 lbs) who can play both forward positions.
The UNLV product averaged less than five points per game as a rookie last season, but he managed to score 13.3 points per game to go along with 7.8 rebounds per night during the 2014 Las Vegas Summer League.
There has been speculation for the last year or so that Young could be on the move and there is a possibility a trade involving him could be tied to a Cavs and Wolves deal.
