Former Secret Service Officer: Hillary Only Cares About 'Whatever Benefits Them'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Former Secret Service Agent, Gary Byrne, discussed his new book, Crisis of Character, about his time serving in the White House during Bill Clinton's administration and why he thinks former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is not worthy of becoming the next President.
Byrne, while speaking to Chris Stigall on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, said Mrs. Clinton is not capable of making the tough choices required of a Commander-in-Chief.
"If I was somebody that had to deal with her on a [high] level, if I was another head of state or I was the Secretary of State of somewhere else when she was, I would be very cautious about dealing with her. I completely believe that she's driven by polls, whatever's popular and whatever benefits them. That's the way I see it. Whatever benefits them and what drives the polls for the next election."
He stated that despite the potential risks that could come from writing such a controversial book about a presidential candidate, Byrne felt that it a necessary to go public with what he has to share.
"I'm coming out and telling you that what's in my book, my life story, is true and I'm putting my face on it...I purposely wrote this book without telling anybody. The uniformed division officers that I'm still friends with and some of the agents I know, I wanted to give them complete deniability because I know how vindictive the Secret Service and Homeland Security can be...I think the point that this had to be told and people need to know who she really is outweighs that.
He does not think the former Secretary will be indicted for her use of a private email server while at the State Department, but believes she should be.
"I think it's the right thing to do. I'm sure there's thousands of government employees and even people that work for companies, if you went outside of your server and moved proprietary information and put that at risk, they'd fire you. In the government, if I had done that, they would have pulled my clearance immediately. It's insane."
