Former Pa. School Aide Sentenced In Molestation Case
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A former suburban Philadelphia elementary school aide has been sentenced to six to 18 years in state prison in a child molestation case.
Forty-seven-year-old Vito Granieri of Skippack was also ordered by a Montgomery County judge Wednesday to spend 15 years on probation after serving his prison term.
Granieri pleaded guilty in August to indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, unlawful contact with minors and corruption of minors at Saint Eleanor Parish School in Collegeville between 2006 and 2008. He apologized in court to the boys and their families.
Judge Richard Hodgson turned down defense attorney Marc Steinberg's bid for a county jail sentence. The judge called Granieri a danger to society and said his initial denials cast doubt on the victims' credibility and made them "outcasts."
