Former New Jersey Governor Florio Remembers Geraldine Ferraro

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A former Governor of New Jersey reflected on his time serving with Geraldine Ferraro in Congress.

Former New Jersey Governor Jim Florio, who served with Ferraro in Congress during the late 1970s and early 80s, says she was a very capable member of the house.
"She was a favorite of Speaker O'Neil, who really kind of guided her career, and she worked her way into leadership very early on."

Florio recalls working closely with Ferraro on issues that mattered to both New York, and New Jersey. "She was very good, very articulate, and very, very supportive of New Jersey and New York. She was a northeast person, she was a very sophisticated representative from New York and she will be missed."
