Former Lansdale Catholic H.S. Coach Facing Prison After Accusation Plea

LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) -- A former lacrosse coach at Lansdale Catholic High School in Montgomery County has pleaded "no contest" to charges that he falsely accused two other coaches at the school of sexual misconduct in anonymous e-mails to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The no-contest plea means that Timothy Udinski is not admitting guilt but concedes that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him at trial.
The stalking and harassment charges against the 44-year-old Doylestown man stem from a series of anonymous e-mails that were sent alleging the football coach and the lacrosse coach were sexually abusing their players (see related story). They also suggested a coverup by the principal.
Montgomery County prosecutor Jesse King says the e-mails started after Udinski was fired.
"We believe he was upset about it -- he didn't take it the right way -- and he decided that he was going to do something about it and made up these horrible accusations against various people at that school," King tells KYW Newsradio.
Udinski now faces a maximum of 11 to 22 years behind bars, but King would not say whether he will ask for jail time. Udinski himself was once the target of false accusations.
