Former Falcons Tight End Speaks About Michael Vick And This Week's Eagles/Falcons Game
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – As the Eagles prepare to face Atlanta this Sunday, a former Falcons tight end had a few things to say about Michael Vick and his role with the Eagles.
Alge Crumpler, who played for Atlanta from 2001-2008, said he recalls "a lot of energy" from his days with Michael Vick in Atlanta. He also said Vick has a responsibility to the Eagles, and implied that the quarterback might not be taking that seriously enough.
"You're supposed to go a little bit above and beyond…When you get that type of money, you have to find ways to elevate your teammates to make them play better," Crumpler told Anthony Gargano and Glen Macnow during the afternoon show. "Just watching [Vick] right now, I'm quite surprised at the carelessness he has with taking care of the football. Maybe this bye week will help them hold onto the football a little better…I definitely enjoyed playing with Mike…but he's a different quarterback now than he was with us in Atlanta."

Crumpler also compared Vick – seemingly unfavorably – to New England's Tom Brady, saying, "In my career with New England, I did two years ago with Tom Brady…His total command of the offense and the way he instructed guys to be in certain places at critical moments of the game shows me how great Tom Brady is."
"When Mike's at his best," Crumpler concluded, "he can beat any team in the National Football League. When he's at his worst, the whole team sucks."
The Eagles are slated to take on the Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday, Oct. 28.
