Former Eagles GM Harry Gamble Dies
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Former Eagles general manager Harry Gamble has died.
Gamble was the team's general manager from 1985 until 1995. His son, Tom, is currently the team's vice president of player personnel.
Harry Gamble was also head football coach at University of Pennsylvania from 1971 until 1980.
"The big thing is he is very conscientious. He is a hard-worker and he has a great personality. He knows everybody in the league and everybody knows him, and I think he is well respected. All of this is very, very positive and hopefully it will continue here in Philadelphia," Harry said of his son Tom when he returned to the Eagles last year.
Gamble's credits also include head coach of Lafayette's football team, and head coach at both Clayton and Audubon's high school.
Gamble passed away Tuesday morning.
