Former Daily News Editor Michael Days Gets His Old Job Back

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - More changes at one of Philadelphia's daily newspapers. The tabloid "Daily News," will get a new editor, who's really the old editor.
It's DAYS-zha-vu for the Daily News. Michael Days returns to the job he held until a year and a half ago, when hedge funds bought the papers in bankruptcy.
The hedge funds had replaced both Days and Bill Marimow at the Inquirer but the new local owners have now restored the leadership of both papers.
Publisher Bob Hall says the staff is thrilled.
"I have complete confidence he can take the Daily News to better things in the future."
Any change at the Daily News is often accompanied by fear, as it seems perpetually rumored to be closing but Hall says nothing of the kind is planned.
"Our game plan is to continue to make the Daily News better."
Days replaces Larry Platt but Platt will keep a connection to the company, writing a column for the Inquirer.
