Forbes Releases Annual List Of 'Most Miserable Cities,' And Philadelphia's Not On It

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Are we, as Philadelphians, getting happier?
According to a new list, the answer is yes.
Forbes.com has released its annual list of America's Most Miserable Cities, and for the fourth year in a row, Philadelphia isn't on it.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Detroit topped the list, with nearby Flint, Michigan coming in second. In fact, all of the top four most miserable cities are located in the Midwest – Rockford, Illinois came in third, and Chicago came in at number four.
Forbes says they arrived at the data by taking a localized approach, considering factors like violent crime, unemployment, foreclosure, home prices and even commute times and weather. But they also tweaked their methods for 2013, dropping data like political corruption and pro sports team success (which might have had an impact, considering Philly apparently has the most depressed NFL fans).
The last time Philadelphia ranked high on the Forbes misery index was back in 2010, when we came in 20th. Unfortunately, the news for nearby Camden and Atlantic City hasn't been quite as good: Camden ranked 13th, while AC came in 15th this year.
New York City is the tenth most miserable.
