For The First Time Since January, A Little Less Pain At The Pump
By Dan Wing
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The streak is over! For the first time in over five weeks gasoline prices are down.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says that the price of a gallon of gas dropped 33-cents this week, marking the first nationwide drop since late January. As you're probably already aware, prices at the pumps have been on a steady rise since Labor Day Weekend.
In fact the national average price set all-time records for prices in every month from September through February.
The nationwide average price per gallon as of Friday was $3.76, up 28-cents from just one month ago.
AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge report says the average price for a gallon of regular gas in the Philadelphia area runs $3.77, $3.58 in South Jersey. Both those numbers are up 21-cents from one year ago.
