FOP Offers More Money For Information In Murder Of Officer Walker

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is now upping the reward for information leading to an arrest.
The FOP is kicking in another $5,000 bringing the total reward to $35,000 in the search for suspects in the murder Saturday morning of 19-year police veteran, Officer Moses Walker Junior (see related story).

Ten Philadelphia cops have been killed since 2006. Prior to that it had been nearly 10 years since a Philadelphia officer had been killed in the line of duty.
Local FOP President John McNesby says a number of factors are to blame.
"We're short in personnel, just the reckless of the people on the street today. They don't think twice about firing at a police officer. You could attribute it to the judges, you could attribute it the parole board."
McNesby is encouraging anyone with information to come forward and call Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS. He says even the smallest detail could help the investigation.
Funeral services for Officer Walker are pending.
