Football: Penn State Welcomes Iowa to Beaver Stadium
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (CBS) - If there is a team that is kryptonite to Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions, it's Kirk Ferentz's Iowa Hawkeyes.
Iowa has won eight of nine in this series, and that includes a 24-3 victory last season in Iowa City.
Regardless of the matchup, regardless of who is healthy and who is hurt, regardless of who is up and who is down, the Hawkeyes in the last decade have almost always found a way to take care of the Nittany Lions.
Penn State will try to reverse that trend on Saturday when they welcome Iowa to Beaver Stadium for a 3:30pm kickoff.
The Nittany Lions are 4-1 this season after winning their Big Ten opener last week, capturing a 16-10 decision at Indiana.
For 3-1 Iowa, this will be their conference opener.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with FightOnState.com editor Mark Brennan about this match-up, the Nittany Lions' continued timeshare at quarterback, and the state of the team halfway through the 2011 season.
