Eagles, Foles, And McCoy Fulfill Dreams Of Kids Suffering From Cancer
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy did something special, way beyond the football field.
The Eagles hosted children who suffer from cancer and attend a Ronald McDonald House ran Pennsylvania camp, for a special flag football game at the Nova Care Complex.
Andre Saballete, a volunteer at the camp, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma when he was a year and a half old. Colin Delaney, 15, was diagnosed with leukemia and was forced to stop playing football. Together, Saballete and Delaney worked to make this flag football game happen so Delaney could feel normal again, even for just a little bit.
What Delaney didn't know, was that his favorite player 'Shady' McCoy, as well as Foles---the Eagles starting QB---would throw the pigskin around with him and his buddies. And Delaney sure didn't expect Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman to sign him to a contract for this Sunday's game at Lincoln Financial Field.
"Best day ever," Delaney said in the video. "Unexpected and awesome. I'm definitely going to remember this for the rest of my life."
