FOLCROFT, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities are searching for two men wanted in connection with a police-involved shooting on Monday afternoon in Folcroft.
Police say Chester City authorities were looking for a vehicle involved in a shooting homicide on Monday.
Folcroft Officer Chris Dorman and his partner discovered that vehicle around 4:20 p.m. on the 1100 block of Taylor Drive.
That's when police say the suspects exited their vehicle and one man pointed a gun at the officers. Authorities tell CBS3 that Dorman fired two shots at the armed man. It's unknown if the suspect was struck. Police say no officers were injured in the incident.
"He returned several shots. They both continued running towards Carter Road here and that's the last we saw of them," said Folcroft Police Chief Bob Ruskowski.
Dorman is the same officer who in 2016 was abushed by a man while conducting a drug investigation. The gunman behind that shooting, Donte Island, pleaded guilty last year and was sentenced to 33 to 100 years behind bars.
"[He was] shot seven times and he's back to work within several months and he wants to work. What more can I say. All my guys are good but he wants to work and he's not afraid to get involved as you can see," said Ruskowski.
Police describe the suspects in Monday's incident as two black men and say they fled on foot. Folcroft police released an image of one of the men, saying he's wanted on charges of attempted homicide of a police officer.
Neighbors, many confused and fearful, were outside and watched the whole thing.
"It does concern me very much. I have two kids that live here and a lot of kids on the block here," said Russell Weidenmiller.
Neighbor Grace Falcone was outside with her 5-year-old granddaughter and says while this is not a violent neighborhood she has serious concerns after what happened here today.
"I see the suspect get out of the van and run down there but I don't know where he ran to," she said.
Authorities are urging residents who live in Delmar Village to shelter in place as the investigation continues.
